A week from today we fly to northern California for an adventure. We will take care of two dogs and two cats in their home while their people are on their own adventure in Central America. It's three days from Christmas and as usual I'm not nearly 'ready' -- whatever ready means in this context. We have excused ourselves from any real Christmas decorating this year, as we would have to take everything down and pack it away a few days later.
As amusing as this avoidance activity may be, it's time to go finish the gift I am sewing for my sister. My family is not much into crafts and other handmade items and I am as lacking in creative skills as the rest of them, but I am unable to resist the urge to produce something by my own hands.
It's a glorious sunny day on the waters of Conception Bay. I should be outside. I should be doing something useful. I should clean the house, wrap presents, make lunch, feed the cat, pack for the trip.
